Landau Forte College Derby is the lead school in the Landau Forte School Direct Partnership. Built and opened in 1992 as one of the founding members of the City Technology Colleges which has since grown into the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT), the College became an Academy in September 2006, offering dual specialisms in Technology and Business Enterprise.
Our ambition is to provide a world class standard of education through being a dynamic and innovative organisation where education is founded upon clear and common sense principles.
At Landau Forte, we have worked collaboratively with schools and colleges both within the UK and on an international level for the past 20 years. We consider ourselves to be on a learning journey alongside our students, their parents and members of the community.
We work in partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and The University of Nottingham (UoN) to deliver our teacher training programmes. NTU and UoN are established and successful providers of initial teacher-training and education-related courses. Staff at Landau Forte College work with the researchers and practitioners at the Universities to design and deliver our courses.
We are a School Direct hub for trainee teachers in Derby and Tamworth. The range of partnerships we have means that placements are available in Primary, Secondary, P16 and Special Schools and across a wide range of subjects.
At Landau Forte College student learning, attainment, achievement and well-being are at the centre of strategic thinking, planning and actions. Both staff and students have a “can-do” attitude which is prevalent across the organisation.
If you to choose to train with the Landau Forte College School Direct Partnership, you will be trained and supported by outstanding practitioners, both in school and at university.
