Good afternoon,
As we come to the end of term I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your children for all your support and hard work. Thank you for your patience as we implemented our online learning via MS Teams, this has been a steep learning curve for all of us but we hope students have found these lessons engaging and supportive. This second period of enforced school closure has been very challenging but I continue to be so impressed with the commitment and dedication of all in the Landau Community.
We are certainly missing the energy and excitement that our students bring to the school and, whilst I know staff have enjoyed their interactions with students via their on line lessons, we are all hoping that we will soon receive some clarity on the schedule for the reopening of schools. We know the Prime Minister will make an announcement on the national lockdown on 22 February and we hope this will include the plan for the reopening of schools. As soon as we have information on the timescales regarding the reopening of schools and the format for this summer’s GCSE, A level and vocational examinations we will pull our plans together and share them with you. We can’t wait for the Landau Community to be back together again!
At 3pm today please close the laptops, text books and exercise books and shut your home school for a two week break. We do not want students to be working over the break, we would like everyone to have a rest from their screens and be able to relax.
The school will close to all students at 3pm today and will reopen at 9.20am on Monday, 1 March.
We wish all our families a safe, peaceful and restful break.
Take care,
Alison Brannick
