Good evening everyone,
We hope you and your families are all well.
These remain anxious and uncertain times for adults and young people alike and we wanted to take this opportunity to remember that we are all part of the Landau community. We are still here to support all our students and their families. We can be contacted by email or via our telephone lines which remain open from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 3pm. Our recent Landau Bake Off was a great success in bringing the Landau community together. We had so many amazing entries, judging was incredibly difficult and we hope you’ve had chance to view the winning entries on our website or on Twitter @LFCDerby.
Conversations are taking place within the Department for Education regarding what school reopening will look like and as soon as we have further information, we will share this with you. We are missing our students terribly and we are all really looking forward to seeing them again at some point in the future, when schools can safely reopen.
Many of our families are fasting and we would like to take this opportunity to wish you Ramadan Mubarak. We know Ramadan looks very different this year but we hope you will still be able to spend family time together.
Thank you for continuing to support our students with their learning. Families are juggling so many responsibilities, caring for relatives and running home school to name but a few, and we wanted to continue to acknowledge the great work you are doing to ensure our students keep learning. Below is a link to a selection of really useful, free resources.

We have made contact with Derby Covid Community Response Hub (DCCRH) to see how we could work together to best support our families. DCCRH oversees the distribution of food parcels across the city. If you or anyone you know is facing difficulties due to the current Covid 19 crisis please contact Derby Covid Community Response Hub (DCCRH) on 01332 640000 (choose option 5) or via [email protected] and DCCRH will deliver a food parcel to your door. From next week, school staff are also delivering food parcels from DCCRH, please telephone or email the school if you would like us to deliver a food parcel to you. If you would like to donate food to your local foodbank please contact the Derby Covid Community Response Hub via the contact information above and they will provide you with the details of your local food bank.
Friday, 8 May is the Early May Bank Holiday to mark VE Day and school will be closed. Staff do not expect our students to complete any school work on this day. Please enjoy the Bank Holiday as a family and close the home school for the day! The National Museum of the Royal Navy, the National Army Museum and the Royal Air Force Museum are joining forces to host a free online festival from 7 – 9 May, bringing to life the stories of those who helped deliver Victory in Europe. Please have a look at the website for some fantastic resources to celebrate VE Day.
