I hope you all had a restful and peaceful summer break and you and your families are well. We are really looking forward to welcoming all our students back to school and I wanted to remind you of some important information. I also wanted to let you know that, over the last two weeks, we have celebrated amazing A level and GCSE results with our students. We are so proud of their achievements, our Year 13 students have secured some fantastic destinations including places at universities such as Cambridge, Warwick, Nottingham, Birmingham and Exeter and degree apprenticeships at companies such as Toyota and National Grid. Our Year 11 students secured amazing grades which will enable them to go on to their next steps in our Sixth Form and at other providers across the city. We are incredibly proud of them all!
Back to school guide for students
Our ‘Back to School Guide’ for students covers some frequently asked questions. We would appreciate it if you could discuss this document with your son/daughter.
Reminder of reopening information
I would just like to remind you that there is a requirement for all people who are ill to stay at home. If anyone in your household has Covid-19 symptoms your child should not attend school. If anyone in your household, or your child tests positive for Covid-19 you must inform the school. Any student or member of staff displaying Covid-19 symptoms will be sent home to isolate.
The Department for Education/Public Health England states that there is no requirement for staff or students in schools to wear face masks. If our staff and students want to wear face masks/other PPE we fully support this.
Please find below a reminder of the start dates and start and finish times for all year groups. You will also find our revised Code of Conduct for students, which we have put together to keep all staff and students as safe as possible. Please do go through this with your son/daughter prior to their return to school.
The letter sent to parents in July with full opening details can be downloaded below:
Finally, Derby City Council have provided us with information regarding bus services into the city centre and below is a poster detailing further information. Please note, the Bus Station is pick up only and all services will allow customers to alight their buses prior to them entering the Bus Station.
If you have any further questions prior to your child returning to school please do contact us. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Kindest regards,
Alison Brannick
